An important and large late 17th century German folding games box veneered in field maple, one side with an inlaid chess board in contrasting timbers and an early numbers game, the reverse with a backgammon board, the place tips inlaid with ebony and bone points, complete with a set of fine and large turned counters in rosewood and boxwood. This games board has had a recent stand made for it so as to enable the board to be used with a clear plate glass top as a stunning and original low coffee table.
