Alfred William Parsons was an English landscape painter, watercolourist and illustrator. Parsons was born in Somerset and became well known as a flower painter and engraver. He did many illustrations of very high quality for William Robinson. This led him to an involvement with garden design. Parsons became President of the Society of Painters in watercolour in 1905. Although he travelled widely he exhibited landscapes and still lifes at the Royal Academy and other institutions from 1871.
